Just got this guitar finished today and wanted to post some pictures. This is the second Kramer 5150 I've made. The first one wasn't exactly correct. I also decided to go for the beat up look on this one. Thanks to Rol who has helped me out on more than one occasion. More pictures are at http://coolez.net/5150

Dave,

It didn't take me long at all to make this guitar. Actually, I probably rushed it too much. I received the parts this past Friday, did all the prep work on the wood that night, then painted all day Saturday (about 14 hours), then sanded the hell out of it Sunday, and did the finishing touches Monday night. So, about three days total. I probably should have let the paint dry more between coats, because I had a few close calls. But I also wanted the red to be thin so I could easily sand it off in spots, and it seemed easier to sand and shape so to speak, before the paint had fully cured. The Frankenstrat is next on my list, that seems like it'll be a little tougher to do. BTW, yours both look great.

bob'e'chops,

The ones I have built sound great. I've even played out with the first one I built and it did really well.

Here are some pictures of the whole process. These are of the first Kramer 5150 I did and a Wolfgang Special.

Some of those pictures may be a little big.

Those guitars look awesome! Do you get your parts from warmoth? And what is the best kind of paint to use for duplicating Eddies guitars?

eveything looks good exept for bottom of the neck. It's strait across like a tele. Shouldn't it be more rounded?

to be like Eds yes it needs to be rounded, that's one of the things I had them leave, like I said earlier it's a kit not just a puzzle.
there are other little thing that need to be modified slightly to be exact as exact can get like the little notch for the truss rod adjustment but hey I don't even do every little thing.
I guess there is a point where it gets to be a little anal and I think I've past that point already

Well that flat part on the neck is a part you, and eveyones grandmother can see, I noticed it right off. I don't think it's anal, If your gonna build one at least It should lookright. Right? Who cares about what you can't see.

you can see the truss rod adjusment hole on the body, and I'm not gonna bag on that guitar it's more correct than some of the guys out there that were selling them, I think for a guy that did that himself on the second attempt is outstanding,
if he want to make it even closer that is up to him.
