Since I saw the thread on ZOOM settings, I thought, hey-maybe those of us with POD's or similar devices could do the same thing. I own a Peavey 5150 and a POD...let me tell you, for recording or practicing in my palatial imitation apartment building (10 points for whomever knows where THAT came from!) the 5150 isn't practical. The sounds I've gotten with my POD (and admittedly and F/X processor--yeah yeah, I know, in 2000, that ain't cool, but I like it) are close enough on tape that I'm happy. To get this ball rolling (or to waste my time) this is what I have for a good basic Eddie-type lead sound:
Drive:6 (with drive boost ON)
Treble:5 (presence boost ON)
channel volume + master volume:your choice
F/X type: Delay and compressor
F/X tweak: around 3.5-4
Give it a shot...I'd love to hear more POD sounds from anyone, and not just VH sounds-anything you've got.
FYI:I recorded a track with my POD at these settings as well as my miked 5150, and I can HARDLY tell the difference in the mix. And no, I don't work for Line6 in any capacity.
