Hi about a few months ago I bought a mesa triple rectifier new with a cab and footpedal. I have ran into financial troubles and i really need the money. I have never gigged with it and I rarely used it because it was very loud. It has great crunch and a great Dream Theater like tone to its solo channel. Its in perfect condition and Im selling the head with its cover cables paper work cards and cover. Im am selling it for $1,500. I bought it for 1,799.00 new and had is specifically ordered from the mesa factory . Please reply with questions are if you are interested.

Guitar center will lowball you. You might want to try Ebay.

If you take it to any music store you'll probably get 50-60% of what you paid for it. You'd do a bit better, but not much, if you trade it for another peice of equipment.
You're best bet is to sell it on consignment or, like Onirb said, try ebay.
If all else fails you could try a hot plate to bring the noise level down.
I'm curious as to why you'd even think of buying such an expensive head without trying it out or having a real purpose for it.

The thing is that my band play so many different styles of music. I had a gig yesterday and I cranked the amp to about 4 and it sounded great for metal but thats about it, I tweaked it the whole 6 months I had it. Sometimes I feel like playing jazz or funk, stuff like vai andy timmons, or pantera metallica boston. So i need a flexible amp with tons of sounds and effects. I played a Vetta Head and it was pure heaven. Do you think I will be able to trade a mesa head for a Vetta head???

No but you can trade it for a 2 channel modded 70's Marshall with an extra gain stage, effects loop, and resonance control.

Yea you probably could get a Vetta out of it.

If I were you, I'd keep the Triple Rectifier and get a Vetta pod. Line 6 just put out a new pod that's around $350 instead of the regular $300 price range and it's modeled after the Vetta amp. The $1,500-$1,800 price tag for a Vetta is truly laughable IMO but $350 for the pod seems to be a good way to go.

I agree its way to expensive. I think ill get a POD XT and put it in the effects loop of the mesa rectifier, and use it for some lead sounds. Man homeunit I guess you dont like your marshall???Have you played through a boogie??????

Yes I do like my Marshall, and yes I have played through a boogie or two.

The Marshall is great. It's super versitile, but it's real organic sounding. I need something (like a recto) for all the super heavy stuff I do. The Marshall does super heavy just fine, but the recto does it better.
