I'm by no means as good as some of the guys in this forum but I'd have to say the really recent stuff is a biatch to learn from my point of view.
It seems like Ed has gotten unnecessarily complicated since the two BOV1 tracks he did with DLR. Some of the songs on VHIII (yes I admit it... I did try to learn a few ) were darn hard to learn. He's got shit going on everywhere.

I don't know if this classifies as "hard to learn" because its not difficulty - more inability... but its also a bitch that he is doing heaps of stuff with trans-trems, sustainer pickups etc etc that most of us can't do. I would love nothing more than to learn Me Wise Magic - but without a transtrem (and sustainer for the end ) its useless.

I find the earlier stuff is actually easier to learn - the riffs are simple - solos are usually a different story though!

Oh yeah, my Mean Street begining ain't never gonna sound like Ed does it! I've pretty much accepted that by now!

Well, a song that I'll probably never be able to play right through is dirty movies as I can't understand the tab of the tapped harmonic intro.

Whenever I tap what (I think) it says, it sounds wrong

Songs I just can't seem to get are Meanstreet (intro and funky intro to solo) 5150 (can't play it fast)
Push Comes To Shove (rhythm)
Ice Cream Man (start of solo)

and probably a few more I haven't tried yet

My favorite song to play is easily A.F.U.
That has so much energy it's hard not to keep a shit eating grin on your face when you play that.
I found the hardest song to be Summer Nights, simply because we tried to do it without a trans trem. It's not a hard song to play at all, but we finally had to drop it because it just doesn't sound right without the change in pitch that the trans trem gives.

It is in drop D but the harmonics are on the high strings which are in standard flat tuning

I must be doing somethin' wrong

The tapping bit of "Humans Being" requires a little stretch on the fingers.

I got this capo a few months back called a glider. You can move it up and down the fret board to with ease http://www.glidercapo.com/main.html I got if for $15 (the guy that runs my local music store is a real nice guy who almost always gives you price breaks on stuff)
But you do have yo roll it up and down the fretboard a little to get it to move smoothly.

NxtVanHalen, That is a weird little unit.
I'm definately gonna contact the music store for one of those and see what happens. It's always worth a try.
Thanks bud. I owe you one.

No, it can't roll over a locking nut. And it shows sombody pushing the back of it to get it to roll, which might work if I oil it up, but when I use it I have to move it with my index finger and my thumb with the metal looking pegs on the sides. It is worth looking into Tribb. I'll reacord a simple demonstration and give it to someone to post. Funny thing is I got the capo to play "Summer nights". Sorry about changing subjects here, Back to the toughest song!

I've just had another look at this
You think we're talking about Atomic Punk?
We're talking about Dirty Movies
