It's all about tone in my book. I love these players tones.

EVH - The damn Brown Sound....The greatest tone ever!
Angus Young - All his shit sounds the same but I love how it sounds.
Hendrix - Not a big fan but his tone does rule.
Eric Johnson - You could hand him a damn violin and you would still know that it was eric johnson playing it.
Mark Tremonti - Yeah, you heard me I said Mark Tremonti...what can I say the mofo has got some cool tone.

    1. Eddie has always had the best tone except for VH 3 .
    2. Eric Johnson is another tone meister . He is a genious .
    3. Jimmy Page in the studio of course .
    4. George Lynch . I think his sounds on " Under Lock and Key " rule . He made good use out of a Tube Screamer .
    5. Honorable mentions include...Brian May , Yngwie , Clapton ( Cream era ) , Steve Lukather , Jeff Beck ( handful of songs ), and last but not least , the guitar army of Boston...Tom Scholz kicks ass !

Eddie's Brown sound, and all the others.

    SRV

    Gilmore

Zakke Wylde on the no more tears album, but that might just be the overall mix that I'm impressed with rather than just guitar.
