Is it just recorded stuff from the albums? When they play Jump and Right Know Ed seems to do a lot of extra fill playing until the solo. Not that I am complaining about it.

From what I recall on the "Balance" tour, Ed had Alan "Fitz" Fitzgerald (Nightranger, Montrose) sit sidestage and play the intro bits and backing pads for "Right Now", "Dreams", "When It's Love" etc..

On the III tour, before keyboard songs, Gary would yell for "J.J." to start the song. Not sure who J.J. is though.

I'm pretty sure that on the FUCK tour, it was sequenced. I could be wrong...I'm often wrong.

I saw Night Ranger in '97 or '98 and Jack Blades was introducing the band and he said Fitzgerald was Eddie's keyboard player for the last 10 years. That would be a cool job and I think Jack Blades would be a good singer for VH.

I would still like to know who that JJ guy is from the VH3 tour. Probably some keyboard tech named JJ; ha, ha, ha...

Also Mikey played keys back in the DLR days. I know he played on And The Cradle Will Rock, and i've seen him play during the solo to I'll Wait.

After the 5150 tour, Ed pre-recorded all of the keyboard parts and piped them through the sound system. He said he re-recorded them every few days to keep them fresh sounding. That's what he's said in interviews for years.

If I remember rightly, didn't he also say he left all the mistakes in to keep it sounding natural?

Alan Fitzgerald did the FUCK tours, if you notice his name appears in the ending credits of the Live RHRN video.
