I saw this pic at Harmony Central and thought you guys might enjoy it.

After you finish drooling over the quilted Maple, take a look at the bridge. Is that a Strat style hardtail on a Wolfy???

Sure as hell looks like it. Maybe they are looking for ways to cut costs?

I dunno. Didn't Eddie use to like the standard tremlo's cause he could tune it real quick after whamming? Like by pulling back up on the bar after dive bombing. Anyways, I think it's to cut costs as well.

This is from the Peavey forums. I guess since the guitar is so much they may not want to spend the money to make a trem at 75% of the roiginal size.

New for 2003, is the Wolfgang 7.5, a 22 " scale USA made quilt top Wolfgang for youngsters, or anyone who wants a top quality shorter scale guitar. At $1499.99 with case the Wolfgang 7.5 is available in Amber, Transparent Red, Black Cherry, and Tiger Eye. Availability starting in the 2nd quarter, the Wolfgang 7.5 is less than half the cost of a Byrdland

If this is indeed what rcrimm alluded to in the thread in the Main VH Discussion.....the so-called "short scale Wolfgangs"....then these are a major, MAJOR disappointment for me personally.

I thought maybe Eddie was releasing a 20 fret, easy-to-bend-on tone monster short-scale guitar, like a Les Paul in the shape of a Wolf. Maybe another 20 fretter, like my old 80's Charvel.

Alas, this is a kiddie's toy?

I dunno, it seems like a good idea to me Rols. You can get the quilt tops in the Custom Shop though.

BTW the Wolfgang 7.5 is a hardtail, string through the body. I guess Ed didn't want a trem on it.
