    Axe, you're not missing anything.
The focus line of guitars were probably the crappiest quality of any guitar they produced.
All korean made, and even though the neck looks good it really is a peice of #$@.
Don't let the fact that it has a maple finger board throw you.
Kramer did make some decent guitars, but that's not one of them.
For the price it's going for, you could get a warmoth neck that's light years above that one in quality and feel.

If I have an old Kramer baretta body (80's) would I be able to get a Warmoth neck that fits it? I was told that Warmoth only makes stuff for vintage/traditional guitars like strats and telecasters. I would assume the heel on a neck for a strat would be a fairly similar measurement to what would fit a Kramer body. Is this correct?? Thanks

Well, with a baretta you're on a much better track. Unfortunately a traditional strat neck won't fit a baretta body, but you can put one on there with a bit of side and bottom shimmining.
The good news is that warmoth can sell you a neck that will fit your baretta perfectly, and they can make it with big frets, and a rounded hockey stick headstock like Ed's, or a strat shaped headstock, and any neck shape you want.
You just have to supply them with some information,(you may have to phone them) and then wait for it to show up. You're already starting off with a pretty good body, and if you have the original floyd for it, even better. When you consider the cost of a good neck, it's pretty cheap to make yourself a great guitar.
If you need an original Kramer logo for the headstock let me know.

Thanks for the info Tribb, I think when I get some cash I'm gonna get a Warmoth neck (same style as the 5150 guitar.) When I do this I'm pretty sure I'll need a Kramer logo so I'll let you know when that time comes. Thanks again

That is a crummy neck from when Kramer traded its soul for profits.

BUT it is probably a Striker neck or later model Focus. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH EARLIER FOCUS GUITARS.

The first wave of Focus guitars were made in Japan at the ESP factory with real a Floyd Rose and excellent electronics. I have a great Focus 1000 circa 1984. Excellent guitar if you can find one. Rosewood fretboard is the only downside.

I too have an early model Focus. It was my first guitar. It's basically a Japan made Barretta. I'd hold it up against just about any guitar. It's rock solid.

Kramer started whoring themselves out in what, 1988 ? Those low end Kramers from that era should have been sold at K Mart.
