If you really cared about the amp you play through, you'd take more time to come up with a more elaborate scheme.

Here is what you should do:

Hitchhike to Eddie's house. Put a pack of Pall Malls and a 22oz Colt 45 on the front lawn. Next to them, place a David Lee Roth blow-up punching bag, complete with cup (we ain't talkin' no coffee cup, either). Ring the doorbell.

This should get the two brothers out of the house.

Now, run behind the house, up the hill, and break down the door of the 5150 studio. Grab Ed's plexi head. Leave a 'Thankyou' note using Valerie's forged handwriting, and in it, include the words,

"....Ed, it's me, Val. I'm getting a**packed by that pale limp nerd co-star on Touched By An Angel, and he wants to try your amp. I'll bring it back in a few weeks...also, here's $10 for Al, I heard he's broke again...."

Then, hide the amp behind your back as you make your way to the nearest Greyhound bus. You should still have around $190 left after buying the punching bag, beer, cigs, & the donation to Al, so use that money to ride a bus back to Michigan.

Call me when you've done this. My cell phone number is 1-800-IMC-RAZY

After you've done all that try a Line 6 Spyder.
It's solid state and has all the qualities you've mentioned and sounds great at low volumes.

A coffee can full of pennies dumped on the front lawn would keep them bent over and looking the other way longer, I could probably get a guitar and some reel to reels.

I've had one for around a year now, and bought it mainly for it's stereo chorus capabilities and price of course.

Well this little fucker can still get loud, has good dynamics for a solid stater in my opinion, and with the option of pluggin in to an expansion cab, you can get an even fuller sound. Some may find the 8's a little tinny, but I find that it's not only a great amp for the value, but just a kickass little amp period.
FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!
