    what is the depth of the pickup cavity on Eds frankie,and,how much of the pickup is above the surface of the guitar body? Or better yet,how close is the pickup to the strings?Thank you.

    the depth of that cavity is just like any other top routed strat, remember he used a pickup that came from a ring mount out of a Gibson 335 they had long legs on them, he had to rout out the cavity a little deeper to compensate for those long pickup legs.
    You on the other hand will probably have to shim up the pickup cause the legs on most of the pickups people use now are short unless you use a Duncan 59' (and I suggest not) .
    The pickup is out of the body a good 1\2" and it's about 1\4" to the strings I would not go any
    closer than that. use a good hardwood to shim the pickup up to the height you need you can get small peices ata hobby store .
