My Crate amp (yeah yeah, I know... ) has the oddest problem. The low-gain input works fine, but I cant get any sound from the hi-gain input. Ive tried new cables, bypassing the effects, etc, and NADA.
Anyone ever have this, or have an idea what it might be?

Thanks!

If every other function of the amp is okay, but you get NO sound from the high gain input jack, either the jack itself has been damaged, or the wires running from it to the preamp are.

So, most likely it's a very simple, and easy to solve, problem. If those are tried but still fail to fix the problem, I can't help you much past that. Good luck!

Glad it was easy to find. I wish all amp problems were that easy.

I have and oooooooold crate amp. I hate it! The overdrive makes a buzz. Love the sound, but hate the buzzing. Does it most when just one pickup is activated. That's about as ass-backwards as anything. Looks like 2 pickups would cause the problem.

Kenyon, check the gound circuit on your amp. Make sure the ground pin hasn't been removed. A guitar with a single coil will always buzz louder than a humbucker, and some single coils are much more suseptible to buzz than others.
