At this stage of VAN HALEN, who should be Lead Singer for the mighty VH.

DAVID LEE ROTH or SAMMY HAGAR?
"Who would ever believe a little dutch boy could create such a ruccous"

Or, a more relevant question might be:

Who's return would make the public give a rat's ass about Van Halen again:
Dave or Sam?

If Sam came back, they might make a few good tunes, but no one would care.

If Dave came back and they wrote some good tunes, people just might give two shits about VH again.

Either way we are looking at a Geritol tour. Take a look at some of these other bands from the 80's, Foreighner, Journey, Styx... They are all old, hobbling on stage with their walkers doing what they can to stage a comeback backed by a recent episode of Behind The Music. I love VH and will support any decision they make as a devoted fan but the reality is that the clock is ticking and they better get something going before they lose their teeth for christ's sake

At this point in time there is only one clear choice:

Sammy Hagar!

And it's getting clearer with every Sam and Dave show. If the truth hurts, then i'm very sorry.

I'd be happy with just about anyone at this point. It's hard for me to choose between Dave and Sam because both guys have something to offer Ed, Al and Mike.

Dave would almost certainly guarantee huge success for the band. Radio and MTV would be all over the reunion and the band would certainly enjoy a ton of commercial success with record sales and on tour. I've never seen Dave/VH in concert and would love to complete the trifecta of seeing every incarnation of the band on tour.

Sam on the other hand has a much better voice than Dave at this stage of the game and the band could certainly continue the progression they started with 5150. VH were somewhat limited to the stuff they could write with Dave and that wasn't really the case with Sam. The band would also enjoy good commerial success with Sam but maybe not to the extent that they would with Dave.
Let's see what happens.
