Lynch has a slight edge on DeMartini . Both kick ass players of the eighties

DeMartini. I always liked both bands, but thought Ratt had a little more edge than Dokken

Yes I agree that Ratt had a bit more edge than Dokken, but i gotta go with Lynch just based on tone here. His tone has always been one of my faves ever since i heard You Just Got Lucky, and Burning Like a Flame. Good shit there Cant forget the tune they did for nightmare on elm street Dream Warriors.

Dokken over Ratt in a second, much better songs IMO, so I have to go with Lynch.. Other good ones "It's Not Love," "Tooth And Nail," "Into The Fire," "Unchain The Night," "Sleepless Nights." Good shit man, and Lynch's "Mr. Scary" is pretty fucking cool too.

Both are good players, but I will have to go with George because he's a cool person. Haven't met DeMartini, so I can't say.
And beyond the horizon.... a sound was heard.

I will go with Lynch also. He has alittle more flare.

I prefer DiMartini, but I don't think he's "better", or anything silly like that.

I identify with his playing style a little bit more, that's probably why I dig his stuff.

And I think George Lynch has one of the worst tones I've ever heard. I'm so shocked to see that someone else actually likes it. To each his own.

This Majestic guy has better tone than Lynch:

I agree with Majestic when he says that one isn't "better" than the other. But my personal taste tends toward Lynch.

For all you Lynch Mobsters, the guy actually f*cking posted in the Seymour Duncan forums! (George's manager confirmed it with their webmaster.)

I think that's cool.

Anyway, here it is, Lynch-heads:

Those two guys were always two of my favorites back in the 80s. I never could decide who I liked better. I used to have a compilation tape that alternated Dokken-Ratt-Dokken-Ratt-Dokken-Ratt etc. It was KILLER - so many great songs and solos.
How I would love to hear those two guys jam!

Warren better songwriter...
George "slightly" better technician...
I love RATT and Warren is more interesting overall, but just slightly...

P.S. Don Dokken's voice is a joke...it is vocal styles like this that helped contribute to the death of metal...pure cheese...it brings down my opinion of George, but although 75% of the Wicked Sensation album is a must own for any guitarist...if you don't have it, buy it today!!!...awesome record!!!

Dokken's voice just seemed pretty sterile to me, he wasn't really a shrieker, nor did he really have an edge to him. Just kind of middle of the road, non-abrasive voice IMO.
