Is anyone out there lucky enough to own a Wolfgang with a locking tremelo and a Wolfgang with a stop tailpiece? I am thinking of adding a Wolfie with a stop tailpiece to my guitar arsenal. But as this guitar is not usually seen in shops, I am just wondering how it plays, if there is any changes in tone, etc.

I've got a Standard Hardtail and a Special with tremolo. Hmmmm. How to answer this?
I bought the Hardtail first and I got it because I hadn't played a guitar with a trem for many years. I thought the Hardtail would be easier to maintain and change strings on. I was right. The guitar plays like a dream and has sustain that's unreal.
If you don't mess with a tremolo I'd go for a Hardtail. However, I was able to buy a brand new Special at the unheard of price of $600. I wasn't too thrilled at the thought of the trem, but once I started playing the guitar I found myself grabbing onto the bar much more often than I thought I would. At this point the Special is my main guitar. I haven't played the Hardtail in months. It's all up to your playing style as which one to get. The Hardtail is a very nice playing guitar. I'd highly recommend it.

Thanks for the info Trennasol. I have a Standard with a tremelo at the moment and I don't seem to use the tremelo arm much as I used to. So I thought a cherry sunburst Standard with a stop tailpiece would be a good addition.

I have both and I prefer the ST only because of the no hassle string changes and the fact that I'm not a big whammy user. Both sound very good.
