Yep, just make sure you have the ohms selctor set to match the ohms of the cabinet.

What would be the advantage of an xtra 4x12 cab?

LOL.. wouldn't that be a swarm of wasps? Man, with that much power, you could be the Tornado alarm for the northeast corner of Texas.
    Your favorite band sucks.

Why did I see that one coming from a mile away?

From the point of view from someone who actually likes the 5150, the extra cabinet isn't going to make you louder technically, but it will seem like you're louder because you'll be moving more air. Unless you're playing with a really loud band and need a fuller stage volume you really don't need to add a 4x12. If you are using the combo in a band situation a better idea would be to run the combo behind you and run an extra 2x12 on the other side of the stage.

    LOL..Sorry LarryJ, I couldn't resist.
But you're absolutely right. I hooked a 4x12 cab to my 5150 combo head at an outdoor gig once, and it did nothing for the volume at all.
It's more suited to the 2x12's already in the cab.

There should be a slider switch at the back of the 5150 that you can set to 4,8,or16 ohms. Just make sure you match that switch to whatever the ohms on the cabinet is. Like if the cabinet is an 8 ohm cab., make sure the switch is set to 8 ohms.
