Hey all,
You have to see this awesome replica built by Stratman5150 he asked me to post it here for him.
Great job !! Stratman5150, perhaps you could tell us a bit more about it.. i.e. body wood, pup, etc...

The body was a kramer 300st.It used to have a recessed trem rout,I filled it in with a piece of wood to have a flush mount floyd. The neck came off of a Hondo strat copy that I picked up at a local music shop here in Columbus.what really drew me to this neck is the skunk stripe down the back With a little mod,I have a neck circa 1984.The body wood is plywood. The pick up is from some kind of Jackson guitar,at least that what was printed on it.I'm not a big fan of the floyd,so basically what I have is a "hardtail" floyd. The trem is blocked, the fine tuners are turned all the way down.I tune at the neck, just like a regular strat.Notice the bone nut. There is nothing really special about this guitar. It was a first time attempt to create a frankie.I am really pleased with the way the paint job turned out. I may try to create another copy at another time.

Stratman, I think that guitar is VERY special! The paint looks great! And I admire your resourcefulness in using some of the parts you've described.

I'm in the middle of my own part-here, part-there EVH replica, and it's encouraging to see one finished and looking so good. Congrats on a really cool Frankie!

Thanks guys I almost forgot to add,I am going to add the neck pickup and switch after I do a little mod to the pick up routs. In the middle rout, the wood is really thin.I have to add a little wood so I have something to screw into.I tried one other time to add the middle switch, but it didnt work out.

Nice guitar!
I don't know if you're into it, but I like the 5150 Kramer's unfinished and dirty neck.
It looks played to death and mean!
I have the same effect on my Kramer. If you want it all you have to do is rub a razor blade back and forth between the frets until the laquor is removed (do it gently-scrape don't dig!) then oil the wood and let it soak in. After a while it developes that highly played look and looks the business!
This method actually takes a little of the 'twangyness' associated with laquored maple necks away and gives it a more rounded tone. I'm sure this is an overlooked part of Ed's Brown sound!

I am going for a unfinished neck for the 5150 that I am currently working on.I might do some mods to the neck on my frankie at another time.

Here's a little number I was finishing up when I needed my selector switch last week from Guitar Center. I posted the transaction process

I modded the floyd positioning to float rather than flush because I do use it quite a bit. Body is basswood, and neck is unfinished maple. I had to cut and shape the profile on the headstock and I haven't done any "relic-ing"... Don't know if I will any time soon. But it was a helluva lot of fun to just make the damn thing
