OK, with all the other (2)threads on Peavey combos going, I just thought I'd start one on quite possibly the BEST of the batch! OK, It's NOT tube.. but this sucker sounds sssssssssssssscccccccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhwww wwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! The Clean is punchy, yet smooth. You can tweak this bad boy to sound just the way you want it, & that says a lot about a non-modeling amp! As for the Transtube technology; OK, it's not "tube", but you can get it to sound as good as, if not better then several TUBE amps in the same class. In fact, I would put the Peavey up against ANY 112 80 watt combo with full confidence! I tried several 112 combos out before choosing the Peavey as the obvious tone! I can get this amp to emulate a 5150 combo EASY!
I have played both in practice & live situations with it & it's never let me down. So, lets hear from ya! who's tried/owned/loved/hated the Transtube 112?

I have the Transformer 112, which is chocked full of goodies. Transtube technology is pretty impressive.

Are you talking about the bandit 112, the transtube 112 efx, or the revolution 112?

Is the Transtube 112 loud enough to play in a band rehearsal situation with a drummer or do you guys think I would need a 212 for that? I'm just asking because I can't exactly crank the thing in the music store. Thanks.

I have a little 112 Studio Pro, it can hang with a drummer and a bass player, but your going to have to bring the bass way down to do it. Like most 112 amp's the bass will bottom out if the volume is to high.

It's not a wattage problem though, it's just that the non-celestion speaker can't keep up at extremely high volumes, an extension cab would probably help.

I have been thinking of getting one of the Transtube 212's, assuming that they sound like the 112 that I already have, my ear's have grown accustemed to there sound, any other solid state amp sounds "fake" to me now.

Anything is better then that Carvin half stack that I got rid of!!

I've played in a club & jammed with it just fine. Worse case, take it home, run it through it's paces.. If you need to, exchange it. I really love mine, it's the perfect "little buddy" amp

I also have a transtube studio pro 112, and I really like it for a tube amp wannabe. I run a sansamp gt2 foot pedal to get a plexi sound and it really sounds killer. But I want to get the 5150 combo but I don't have the cash right now.

I just got my bandit 112 in a few days ago. I can't play it because the guitar I am building needs paint and it is winter out now. I wish that peavey would have put more thought in to the cosmetics though. It looks all robotic and shit. The could have used the chicken head knobs and put it in a more visual appealing structure.
