    Just curious-
Is Fire in the Hole played in Drop-D tuning (or some other odd tuning)? Eddie's tone sounds deeper and fatter on that song than usual, especially during the outro.

I believe it's in standard tuning, but Ed uses a special Wolfie with a trans-tremolo on it to switch between keys, like he did on "Summer Nights" and "Get Up" with the Steinberger.

The starting chord position, and open strings give it a heavy sound as well.

When I first heard that outro, I said to myself......."why didn't he build a whole tune around that riff......he's wasting it with this outro."

That's the cool thing about Ed......so much good shit......he can use a cool riff to close out a tune......
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

He's always known for coming up with great outros that sound totally different from the song... kinda like a song within a song. YOU GOT IT!!!
