The King's X shows we did were really great. We had over 800 people in Atlanta and the audiences were very recptive to us. I love playing a town where nobody knows us and totally going in and kicking ass! A lot of the people seemed to appreciate our songs and sound.

Thanks for asking Homeunit. I have heard good things about your playing.

You mean the slaved head? Nope. It's hard to justify the extra equipment on stage (power amp, rack, etc.) when you play every week. We have a crew, and usually limited stage space, so it'd really slow the crew down. Especially, since there are two guitar players in the band. If I was the only one, I'd definitely have a big rig out there, but not right now. I'll go to two cabs and two heads eventually, but just not anytime soon. Over all, I'm pretty happy with my equipment and I change the heads around to keep things interesting for me.

Live, I'm using a 50 watt '77 Marshall (I have two, and one is modded by John Suhr). I switch those heads depending on my mood. The modded one sounds a little more like a Soldano, but still very Marshally. I connect the head to one or two reissue Marshall 4x12 (checkered front, straight) cabinets. I play mostly my black 1989 Les Paul Standard (I also have a burst), my back up guitars are a 1979 Black fender Strat, and a new Reverend Commando (I'm endorsed by them). My effects are simple: Boss stage tuner, Vox wah (true bypass mod), TS-9 tubescreamer, Boss CE-2 chorus, MXR Phase 90, and a Boss OC-2 octave. That's my live rig.

At home, I have a Bradshaw switching system that has a Chandler Stereo Echo, and an old Loft analog chorus/flange unit. It also switches four different heads for me. I also have a 1971 100 watt Marshall super lead and slant Marshall 4x12 at home. My guitars at home are a mongrel warmoth strat with a Zion neck and Tom Anderson pickups and a translucent black EBMM.

I thought for some reason you were using a triple rectifier I'm intrested in hearing some people' opinion on the rack model!

Last year, I used a Rectifier on our outdoor shows, but I'm a Marshall man at heart. And, my modded Marshall can get that super gain sound, so I don't need the Rectifier now.

Ty was using Rectifiers for the first half of the tour, but now is using the POD preamp and Mesa power amp.

    How stable are your marshall's?

I've got buddies POD here at the house and it's pretty impressive!

Well, they never cut out, if that's what you mean. The sound different, depending on the room (that's why I switch them around). The modded one is pretty consistent. The 77 JMP 50 watt is probably the best "Marshall" sound I've ever heard. And, the '71 Super Lead is cleaner, but totally cool and huge sounding. I guess they're pretty stable. I haven't complained or worried about my tone in a couple of years. I used to play a soldano 50 watt head, and it was alright, but just didn't have the guts and thickness of my Marshalls.
