Ok, guys here's the thing. I've been speaking to the guy who made my custom cause I've had quite a bit of interest from a number of people besides you guys. I'm in Canada, but I have quite a few friends in the U.S.
Anyway, it looks like he's going to make 2-3 guitars to sell in the U.S. They'll be made in the next few months and be ready by the end or near the end of summer I imagine. Be cause of the interest I'm going to the lumber yard with him to pick out the wood in the next couple of weeks, and he's going to get on it. He's kind of pumped cause although he likes to take his time, the interest sparked for this body design has got him wanting to finish a few for U.S. buyers so his name will get around more in the States. He's never considered selling one in the U.S. until now. I had to bug him a bit for that, but I think it'll be worth his time.
He's considered one of the top 4 builders in Canada.
The thing I wanted to ask you guys is, if you could have a guitar built that looks like an EVH, would you like a heavy round neck, or thin neck. Those of you who've played an original EBMM EVH, did you like the feel of the neck, or would you like it different if you had a choice. The neck on mine has the same 10" radius fretboard as the EVH, but I like a rounder fatter neck so that's what I went for. How about fret size? I used Dunlop 6100 frets, quite a bit taller than the original EBMM fets which are mediun size. The 6100's are the same hight as wolfgang frets(6105), but a little wider and rounder on top for a warmer and meatier tone.
Do you guys like quilt or flame tops, and do you like bird's eye or flame necks.
These guitars will be built and then sold so the person buying it will not be able to try it out first and that's why I'm trying to help him get some idea of what the public generally wants.
I'd appreciate any ideas you could give me on what you guys like.
Thanks

I think the rounder neck with the 10" radius is good. I would actually go with the 6105's for more precise intonation and a little crisper tone. Birdseye maple makes one beauty of a neck, and I would choose quilted maple for the top over a flamed one.
Don't bark at me...I didn't name ya.

I'll go with the opposite of everything Abe said.(No offense.) I like thin necks and flametops. Birdseye neck.

I gotta go with the beefiness of the wolf/evhmm neck with a flat radius like the wolf's 15 inches.i too like the wolfs fret hight but wished they were a tad meatier. as for tops, quilt all the way! nothing beats a really deep quilt. birds eye for neck material its really classy looking.
