Can anybody tell me how to stripe and paint up a guitar body to duplicate eddie's frankenstrat? I plan on purchasing a guitar kit from gregrogers.com and they only provide the hardware and components...you have to paint it up and put it together yourself....any and all help would be appreciated....thanks....

Been meaning to ask that question myself. I assume if you want that raw frankenstrat look you would use bicycle paint, Ed said he used Schwinn paint in an old guitar mag interview. but as for how many coats and making the stripes, etc. I have no idea.
Right Now...My gf is probably reading my posts.

Keep it simple. Black with a couple of coates, then tape it off and do the white with a couple of coates. Once all that's looking nice, remove the tape and retape it for the red. You'll notice that the red paint is transparent over the black stripes. I only do about 2 thin coates for the red. The black and white coates can be fairly thin since you are planning on covering up with the red in the first place. Lightly sandpaper for that relic feel, and get out your screwdriver

If you're going for the white and black only, do about 4 coates each.
