I found a 1991 G & L Legacy in my local music store for $450. The guitar is like new. It still had the plastic on the pickguard and NO fretwear whatsoever. This is a nice guitar! Did I pay too much? Also, I 've heard people talk about G & L's prior to 1992 being "pre-BBE" is this supposed to be like "pre-CBS" for Fenders or something? Is there a real difference in the ones made after Leo died? Thanks for your feedback.

I don't know that much about G&L's, except the ones I've played were always nice guitars and played well. What model is yours.
I believe they're all made in the US, and are quality instruments.
There has to be some G&L owners here.

Mine is a Legacy, it's just like a Strat.

I talked to a buddy who works at a music store here and is a lot more familiar with G&L strats.
He's sold them for years, and has 2 of them, along with strats.
According to him it's a workhorse, top quality instrument. Their not designed to be Van Halen type guitars, but for soft, or power blues and straight ahead rock, they're perfect. They can cover a lot of territory soundwise.
A lot of session players use them because of their sound and reliability. There's not any real difference between a 92, or 2000 model in quality, but to some that Pre- might mean something.
Sounds like you got a good deal.
