Hey guys, a long while back we used to have some webspace that was used to upload our own originals/covers, or anything that has you playing on it!
I ran into server problems and it died.

Is anyone here intrested in having a place for us upload files? Let me know cause we might be able to get some space from our main man Jerel, or if not somewhere else.

That would be great. I should have some tunes worthy of posting soon. I'm in the studio now.

Well hell…did anyone figure this out yet? At the ‘Dome we tried to post sound files for all of us to record over. It worked to a small degree, but it’s hard to get together. Nonethelessiveness, I think that it’s a ball to post stuff, especially for us amateurs. I’ll start:

This is something that I just found on a reel. I did this in 1990 and it was for a school project. I had to give examples of 3 types of micing. This has far proximity, close proximity, and off-axis. Here is the jest of it:

I had one shot at this with the limited gear of my college days. I had (still have) a cool Yamaha workstation keyboard (V50) that I did all but the guitar tracks on. Even the bass is synthesized. Then, for the intro, I used my mutt-strat for the sounds through my Marshall Mosfet and recorded it with the mic 6 feet away. Then as the turnaround happens, I put down that guitar and picked up another strat that was plugged into a homemade amp (old Rockman Soloist bolted to 2 boom box speakers…a great portable amp) recorded at close proximity, but off axis (90 degrees). As the solo starts, you can hear me kick the amp so the mic is directly in front of the speakers. There was no mix down or volume adjustment in the end as all the cables were spliced into my tape deck. Man, looking back I can’t believe I went through the hassle, but at least I got a good grade!

    Peace

    Hey guys...whats up...
I'd certainly be into this. And maybe, hopefully, it will get my ass going to do some regular recording...

I am a webmaster for a few sites and some have a bit of free space on them. I don't mind throwing other's files up there and seeing how it works. I am not sure of the best way to approach it, though.
