Do you mean Ernie Ball 5150 strings or peavey wolfgang strings, that a lot of guys refer to as 5150 strings?

I used to use them years ago I remember reading about them having a little more tone and sustain than 'normal' Ernie Ball strings due to a different core and wrapping system. When I used them, they were good. They lasted pretty long, and sounded fine. From what I recall, they were a little softer to the touch-a little easier to fret the notes.

Now I use 10-46, and I do a lot more picking than legato stuff, so I don't use them anymore. Plus, I am lucky enough to have maintained a good relationship with the store I used to teach/work/do repairs at, so I get Fender strings at cost if I order them, and free when I stop by. But to get back to your point, I never had any trouble with the 5150's. They are a LOT better than D'Addario's, and a hair nicer than Markeley's. (IMHO, of course)

Well I ordered them from Musician's Friend and all it said was EVH 5150 Custom strings or something like that.

I'm pretty sure those are the Ernie Ball's. And yes, they are good guitar strings.

I hope I don't break them since they're so thin I have a habit of breaking strings. But my neck's starting to bow, so that's one reason why I got the thin strings.
