Hey folks out there in guitar land...I've got 600 dollars to spend on a guitar (shhhh.....I did some freelance work but didn't tell the missus about it!!!) I'm looking to get another axe just beacause I want something besides my Wolf and have been looking at various other axes and pretty much know what I want....but was interested to know what you guys would consider for that amount of money....The only criteria besides budget is that it be an electric, and the type of music you'd play on it doesn't matter...just what and why.

I like older Ernie Ball guitars for the quality. I've got a 92 sunburst silhouette with a maple neck and board, and EVH floyd, and a 91' black one with a rosewood board on it if your interested. Both have H-S-H pickup configuration. Humbuckers are Dimarzio paf pro's. I just bought a new mountain bike so I've got to sell one of them.
Sorry about the sales pitch. You said your mind was prety well made up anyway, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Go a different direction. So you've got a wolf, lay your hands on something "single coilish". Maybe a Rickenbacher, or an American Standard Stratocaster. Add to your "tonal quiver".
You know the best tone I ever had was with that little bandmaster cranked to 10. Edward Van Halen, 1980, Guitar Player Magazine.

I'll sell you my reverend commando. Check it out on Ebay. Go to the musical instruments section and do a search for reverend. It has a killer aluminum finish. I'm only asking $600. Tone-wise it is fat and toney, the guitar itself is really light, so I was surprised it was so toneful. It is semi-hollow so it has a natural ring/chimey sound to it.

If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

You pretty much nailed it right there dude, exactly what I was looking at, as far as adding to my "tona; quiver", and yes, I was looking at the Strat. BTW, tribb and Jape Man, thanks for the offers anyway. Like I said, I was wondering how you'd spend your that amount of money. I could still just change my mind......

The reason I mention "tonal quiver" is that we're right smack in the middle of recording. As we get going, and I listen to myself play, I keep thinking, "damn it" that sounds like the last one. I'm lucky, however, in that I have 2 stratocasters, one Humbuckered and the other single coiled. You can double your sounds just like that.

I wish I had a cool $600, I'd have a new American Standard on the way. Maybe even, "gulp" a Tele.

Congratulations on being the first person I have ever seen that made 'humbucker' into a verb!
