    Kramer "Baretta 1984"

Yeah I know its nothing like an original 1984 Baretta, its a rep of Ed's 5150 guitar, and you know they couldn't get away with calling it the 5150. Here's the pic if you don't want to click.

Rol has played one of these first hand and he tells me it is right on target.

Thats so cool. I just emailed musicyo about the new barretta and 5150 reissues three days ago and they said they were gonna put up the pics soon, and be on the market within 90 days.

The picture looks nice and I would consider getting one after seeing this but does anyone know if these things are made of real wood and quality parts etc. etc.?

$700 is alot of money for a guitar with one pickup. Although if I have a job by then I'm sure I'll still end up with one.

well think about it....an original floyd rose, schaller tuners, real duncan custom pick up,real solid alder or ash(better be)body.oiled one peice maple neck, assembled in the u.s.a.,hardshell case. gotta be at least around 650.00 which is cool with me if its actually made with those parts and materials.

Before you shell out 700 or more, get all the details you can on the instrument.
Original floyds were made in Germany, and are fairly expensive because of their quality. Is this a german made floyd?
Is the body alder/ash, or basswood?
What type of maple is used for the neck?
What's the warranty, or return policy involved?
Shaller tuning pegs actually suck for keeping a guitar in tune, but this has a double locking system so that shouldn't be a problem. There doesn't appear to be straight string pull from the nut to the tuner so check that out.
Also, find out what "Availability and specifications subject to change without notice" means.
I'm not saying it won't be a decent guitar, but don't let a pretty paint job make you think you're getting one of Ed's guitars, and keep the cost vs. quality in mind.

I'm going to be recieving one of these models to review on the Pleasure Dome when it reopens, so I'll go over all of these details in my review. You have to remember that Rol helped these guys with all the specs and from what he's told me after getting to demo one is that the Floyd is a REAL Schaller Floyd, solid alder body, oil finished maple neck and fretboard. I agree that schaller tuners aren't that great on their own but in a double locking system their more than good enough. The floyd is also set up like the Wolfgang/EBMM and rests against the body so a d-tuna would install with no problems. I'll get into more specifics when I get the review model.
