Making the guitar scream...well..... lets see...umm what kind of amp do you have? It probably has to have an overdrive knob or just distortion and another thing is since you have a strat, the pickups(those three things in the middle under the strings)are single coil. If you had a Humbucker it would have some beef and not have high pitch feedback if it is loud. But...Jimi Hendrix,Eric Clapton, and Ritchie Blackmore have done interesting things with a guitar like yours. Stevie Ray Vaughn, who uses the strat, well did, used a pedal nammed Ibanez Tube Screamer. They are expensive but you may want to find something cheap on ebay that will do the trick or your local music shop and get an overdrive pedal or a metal zone pedal. I hope this kind of helps.

Remember "Beetleguise"? I say Gary Cherone 3 times really fast, and it's all natural after that.

Sorry about that, I was tired. If you guys have ever listened to Poison, you know that CC DeVille likes to make his guitar screech, like a really high note.

i was wondering the same thing, i love how eddie makes the guitar scream in the "beat it" solo, towards the end especially. there are better examples, but i'll have to go and listen to some of his stuff to get more................aren't harmonics when you pluck the string then delicately touch it on like the 5th or 12th fret?

MVH, yes those are (natural) harmonics. You can also pinch them out anywhere you want, you’re essentially creating the same phenomena with your pick and thumb. There are a million way to do it, and all are hard to explain. What I do is chock up on the pick a touch and then pick the string on an angle
If that doesn't work, just kick it in the nut

ok for a pinch harmonic..you want distortion and volume....hold the pick flush with the edge of your thumb and down pick the string as you pick your thumb should mute the string a little allowing the harmonic to sound.as the harmonic sounds bend the string up...hard....try this on the 2nd or 3rd fret on the g string...its easier said than done but practice....since i started using pinch harms awhile ago i play with just the edge of the pick sticking out from my thumb that way i can tuck it in quik for pinching the strings...anyone else do that?
