I play D'Addario .11s, but I would recommend a lighter set if you haven't been playing for long. Get what's comfortable for you and your hands. DRs sound really good, so do the Blue Steel brand from Dean Markley. To me strings don't vary too much between brands.

I use GHS Boomers, 10's. I just love them. I hate E.B. slinky's, they always break the first day i use em but everyone has a preference.

i use 9 gauge GHS boomers. sometimes i use wolfgang strings but i think the boomers have a better tone to them. and they ring more clearer.

I use either Boomers, or D'Adarrio. As for the guage, it depends on what type of sound you want really. I usually use regular .009's on my Music Man and Satriani 100, .010's on my 78 strat, and .009 - .046 on my regular strat. I think Eddie uses .009 - .040.

I like the Ernie Ball Super Slinkys.
(9-42) You might want to check out ebay for strings-I got a box for a ridiculously low price. There's all kinds of strings for sale there.

Yup, EB super slinkey's 9-42. They sound great. Get the nickel wound, not the pure nickel wrapped ones. The pure nickel ones get grungy faster, and they're not as bright sounding. They also break easier.

    EVH,
Here is a big hint for you on the Wolfgang Strings. They are just regular PEAVEY Strings. I was at this music store and I asked for the Wolfgang Strings. They $12.99 a pack. I was like forget that. The guy showed me these other Peavey Strings and he said they were the exact same strings for $6.99 a pack.

I use Blue Steels! I also like GHS Boomers.
