Well,

I've basically been shellacked about me making a "living" off EVH and then complaining about him,
just to set the record straight for those who don't know me, I definiatly *don't* make a living off this, yes I make money but I make so few guitars it's not funny.

I hand build each one, these aren't just repaints with a new neck slapped on, it takes quite a while to do and I do this alone and by no means in mass production basically it's a hobby.

I started this because in the mid nighties I was looking for a 5150 replica and all I found at that time was Ed Romans $2000 not really that close 5150 and I thought $2000 is he nuts? so I investigated and found they could be done much cheaper and still be a quality so close to the real thing guitar.

I truly believe they are art rather than just guitars, most of you couldn't imagine the time put into one of these things sitting there wearing the paint at the same spot in the same pattern, or searching for 1971 quarters.

I offer something at a price no one else does for the detail and that was my goal, I still believe that Ed is the quirkiest endorser, he's proven that and I don't feel one bit of remorse for questioning his motives or decisions and at no time did I say I was "sick of his bullshit" that I can remember, for someone that was so against a "jap" guitar I just found it really strange he would do put his name on it, but as was said before if the quality is good it's a moot point but I just can't see that happening when Peavey has trouble managing there own back yard, I'm not making this shit up, the difference from wolf gang to Wolfgang really is an eyebrow raiser not only in sound but feel and I don't care if they
were done on a CNC or not.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Hey bro
Don't let that fuckhead piss ya off, he ain't worth it. Although I personally haven't tried your goods, all I've heard is good things.
Guys like you are at the heart of the stuggling musician. Instead of putting a nice painjob on a peice of shit, you put a nice paint job on a really solid instrument. Good on ya, and keep up the great work bro.

Hey Rols...
I checked out your site. Man you do some serious great work!
Don't let the comments get you down. I do have a question for you:
Since you provide such exact replicas have you had any problem with pattens or tradmarks?

I have always exected trouble from Kramer more than anyone but they used me as well as others to get there 5150 that's coming out as close as possible to Eds and even offered to make a primer version so I could paint them so I guess they really didn't care.

And if you look at the big picture I'm such small banannas there are places like GMW, Roman,
East Coast Music Mall and every other custom shop out there that have been doing this for 10 yrs longer than me and now since I started my web page you have at least 3 others that have poped up doing the same thing (no where near as accurate though ) or trying to do the same thing.

Now if I were to start making Music Mans or Wolfgangs I'd be stopped in a heart beat but I do guitars that Ed quit using 10- 15 yrs ago and I just paint the wolfies.

The only real trouble I have had belive it or not was Fender, I was given a warning from them and been called by there lawyers from New York about my Frankenstrat, I can't sell it calling it a Frankenstrat I have to call it something else so Franky, or Frankenstein is what I use when I advertise it. Also I can't sell my SRV relpicas
with the SRV on the pickguard, Fender owns the SRV estate guitar wise so I just don't really even advertise those anymore.

hope this answers you questions.

Hey Rols,
I think you put a lot of dedication and hard work into your products, which seperates you from the rest. I've been to East Coast Music Mall, and they can't compare to what you have to offer. Just stick to what you believe in, and remember that you have a lot of folks behind you. Keep up the great work!
And beyond the horizon.... a sound was heard.

Since EVH seems to be patenting and trademarking
everything he can concerning his guitars and Van
Halen in general, do you forsee a future restriction to painting guitars like his older ones?

honestly I don't know, if he does it tons of people will have to stop, but I honestly think
there is a problem, he's not liked people copying what he has since I can remember, and just so I can slam him again, now he sells a gazillion of exactly what he has
I think if it really truly truly bothered him he'd have stopped it years ago, as I said I've been doing this for 3 yrs and there are others who are goin on 10 yrs or more and they are much muh higher output than I, this isn't a new thing by any means, you ask a good question and I obviously don't know the answer as I said but I don't think so just my opinion of coarse.
but then again I could get a letter tomarrow telling me to stop
later,

Rols, I've checked out your site, and honestly I would hope Edward would be flattered that someone takes the amount of time you do to replicate his old guitars. You do something I've always wanted to do, but never done. I guess if he did come down on you and others to stop offering EVH guitars, you could always advertise a plain guitar and say we'll put any striped paint job you want on it as long as it's red, black and white, yellow and black, or black and white.
Eat Us and Smile...yeah we're still around.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, I do try to take pride in what I do and I'm glad people are enjoying it even without buying a guitar.

God Speaks to us through the Bible. If He could play the guitar, he'd play it through Eddie Van Halen.
