Ok, I don't know what you are getting at here, but I was just looking to see what some other players might be experimenting with. If you are trying to imply that I am just trying to make myself look smart or something, that is not the case. I am just interested in learning new scales or modes. I like to see how I could possibly use them in improvisation or in writing music of my own. If you have any cool modes like this, I would like to hear about them. If you don't fine. If it's not your thing, or is your thing fine. Not to start a war, but it's posts like that one that keep me from posting more. I am just trying to learn more things on the guitar to become a better musician. People do this various ways. Right now, I feel I want to learn some modes that aren't often used. Now again, keep in mind I don't know what you are getting at here. Maybe you think I am randomly making up names of modes to make my self sound smart. If that is the case, I have 2 different books with this mode in it. I am just looking for people who might be experimenting with these kinds of ideas and how they might incorporate them.

Eternal Horizon, relax. Rick was just making a joke. I guess he thought you wouldn't take it personally.
If you want to try some different scales, write down the standard scales like lydian, phrygian, locrean, etc... on different peices of paper. Then cut each one into 3 peices, numbered 1-beginning, 2-middle and 3-end.
Mix up all the beginnings, middles, and ends, and then without looking pick a no. 1, 2 and three from different scales and see what you come up with.
You can really come up with some weird stuff, and some of it actually sounds good.

Hey thanks, that sounds like a really interesting idea. I will give that a try. Also, i guess I just got a little pissed, you know how message boards are sometimes. Be it a joke or whatever, I just wasn't sure what he was getting at. Thanks for the idea

Currently I have been messing with some. MY favorite so far is a Japanese Mode Named Hirajoshi It's basically a 5 tone mode, basically a natural minor scal with scale degrees 4 and 7 dropped(in Em- E F# G B C). Anyways I thought this would be an iteresting thread to share some exotic scales and modes.
I only really dabble with my pentatonic, major, and minor... Can you put up some tab on the Hirajoshi?

Hey rick, sorry man. Sometimes these messageboards get nasty, I just wasn't sure what you were getting at. But now I know. anyway, any question you might have let me know. I usually can simplify things pretty good if needed.
