I'll be in the market for a new amp in about 6 months or so. I'm not in a band and I'm not a professional musician.
I'm just a basement jammer. Anyway, there seem to be a lot of nice amps out there these days and I was wondering
if you guys could provide feedback on the following amps.

1. Wiggy-the demos at the Peavey website are interesting. Seems like a very versatile amp, but I'm not completely sold
on Transtube technology, only because I tried a Studio Pro a while back and did not like it at all

2. XXL

3. XXX

4. 5150 or 5150 combo-are these amps one trick ponies? Can they only do high gain stuff or are they at all versatile?

5. Marshall AVT series

6. Peavey Bandit-same concerns with the transtube

I currently have a Marshall 30 watt Master Lead Combo, a solid state amp built in the early 80s. I've had it since I was 15, but it
absolutely sucks. No tone at all. I've never owned a tube amp so I'm not hooked on them the way some people are.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Peavey Studio Pro is pretty nice as well.

I really like my 5150 combo , I liked it a lot more after I retubed with Eurotubes . Yes it`s a high gain amp so if you like jamming on Pantera , Sabbath or Zakk Wylde you won`t need an OD pedal . I play mainly on the rythmn channel and it gets a great crunchy sound , then again it`s a big loud heavy amp to just jam on around the house . I played through a Marshall AVT50 , didn`t quite have that tube tone but sounded really good , nice gain . Another amp I`ve heard people rave about is the Budda superdrive 30 but it`s pretty expensive .
Good Luck .

If you're not gigging and its just for home use then a digital modeling amp would be perfect since you want a lot of versatility. Something like a Vox Valvetronix or a Line6. I normally don't like to recommend these amps but the way you want to use the amp is where these things shine.
