I came across this the other day and it serves as a good guide for making an EVH guitar including the paint job:

Any chance of hittin gme too Stratman:
    tim@knox-clayton.co.uk
Early music made heavy use of the Church modes, which were later organized due to their relationship to the interval pattern of the major scale. The modern conception of modal scales describes a system where each mode is the usual diatonic scale, but with a different starting note. Modes came back into favour some time later in the development of jazz (modal jazz) and more contemporary 20th century music. Much folk music is also best analysed in terms of modes. For example, in Irish traditional music the ionian, dorian, aeolian and mixolydian modes occur (in roughly decreasing order of frequency); the phrygian mode is an important part of the flamenco sound. The Brown Sound popularised by and identified with the music of Edward Van halen displays a distinct lack of respect for any form of music modality - its straight ahead balls to the wall good ol' fashioned rawk and roll......

Thank Gawd somebody reposted these, thanks a bunch 5149.9.
My little boy got a plastic cowboy guitar and when attempting to tighten the strings the bridge popped out. Rather than return it to the toy store I want to paint it to look like a EVH guitar.

Thanks again, weren't there more done on the other guitars too, are those available?

That "5150" has a nice paintjob, but the body itself is way off which will make it very difficult to stripe accurately.
IMO, the shape resembles more of a Charvel style than a Kramer, and I'm not a big fan of the huge Warmoth control cavity either.
The neck is off as well ... I'm not sure if Warmoth's KWS neck is suppose to resemble the Kramer neck or not, but it's not even close.
As far as the scallops ...

I'm not trying to dog the guys work ... his work looks fantastic!
I just think the guitar itself isn't a very good representation of the 5150.
