Well, to be perfectly honest with you, I don't think you will be able to replicate that tone with a DOD flanger. I've used a lot of flangers over the years, from Boss to Arion(LOL), and the only one that I know of that can do THAT tone is an MXR M117 flanger.

Don't know if this will help you much cause all pedals have different settings. However, for some of us you can get pretty close to Ed's Flanger sound with the DOD pedal you have unless your anal about it, cause then you will need to get a Vintage MXR Flanger. Basically I just play with the record, get the timing down and set my flange to a lot of depth but not to much level and the speed so that the flange is going on rise for the first part then fall for the second part that you use it on. Ed did something like that for the little part in the intro of Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love also! Hope that helped a little if it wasn't what you were already doing.

I've got it pretty good with a lot of level, depth and region, an low speed, but it's like it needs to be louder when i turn it on, but that probally has something to do with my prossecer I have it going through.
