I can't give you a definitive answer, but I'll try to help.

I seem to remember Eddie talking about using an old 'Mini Moog' piped through his Marshall to record some tracks....I thought he was referring to 'Jump', or maybe 'Cradle Will Rock'.....it sounds like there is some clipping on those tracks.

I don't have the VH video collection, but as I recall, the brand of keyboard he was playing in the Jump video was a Yamaha (?).

If you ever happen to see that video again, you'll notice there's dust all over the thing.....doesn't look like it was something he was playing too often.

Damn, I can't remember......guys, did he say that he only used that for the video???

Ah, well. If nobody pipes up in here with any thoughts, try and leverage www.Google.com to find your answers. There's always at least *one* fanatic out there that knows this stuff. My bet is that you find your answer here, though. Give it a couple days.

he also used a prophet 5 and an electro harmonix micro synth. for "the cradle will rock" he used an wurlitzer electric piano into his marshall stack.

live, at least during the Sammy years, he played a Kurzweil 250 (onstage), MIDI'ed to Oberheims offstage. i have an article from the short-lived Keyboard World/Modern Keyboard mag that said for OU812, there was a Yamaha DX7II, a Roland D-50, and some Yamaha TX modules, along with the Oberheims. Mine All Mine was sequenced on Roland MC-500's. it is an Oberheim in the Jump vid, maybe an OB-8? i can't remember.

from Carnal Knowledge on, the keys were either sequenced, or played offstage by the tech (depending who you believe...) and i'm pretty sure a lot of the keys/modules were Peaveys.

i've also seen here and there that Ed's got two Steinways that he rotates between the house and the studio...

Yea....an Oberheim OB-8 was his main synth for the 1984 album as well as Why Can't this Be Love and some other shit of 5150 and OU812...

Don't plan on buying an OB-8 unless you have a lot of money to throw around or mommy and daddy still give you an allowance...they go for a pretty penny...

If you want some basic Analog sounds, Musicians Friend, and since they do, Im sure others do, sell some Oberheim analog synths...

When you get into recapturing any type of vintage sound, you have to consider circuits, wiring, and anything else that might be different from the original routing...sometimes it is pure pissing and moaning from purists, and other times, the new shit doesn't even come close
FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!
