Cantrell wanted to release it as two volumes when it first came out, but his record company didn't want to risk it then. He wanted to release the second volume by itself but hasn't had alot of cooperation and support with the record company on it. He'll either leave Road Runner Records or be dropped from the label after this.

I got the CD and he states in the liner-notes that he had no choice in the matter.

It's pretty good. There's a couple of slower songs that need to grow on you or could've been left off, but the harder stuff is great. There's a cool instrumental that'll remind you of "The Whale and the Wasp" from the Jar of Flys ep.
It's funny, when you listen to the whole record-you get the feeling that it all could've been one great record-there's some filler much like Guns-n-Roses did with their "Illusions" records. Both could've had on great record out of the two of 'em.

Sch-weet. I've gotta get this. I really dig the first volume of Deg. Trip.

Yeah, I got the first one (it kicks ass) and it sucks to have to pay for both to get the second one. Oh well, I'll get it eventually.
