I recently purchased the new Journey DVD. I am very impressed with Steve Augeri, he is a very good frontman, and he has a great voice, he can sing all of the classic Journey songs as well as Steve Perry did IMO. I actually think he does a better job than Perry on some songs like Seperate Ways (Worlds Apart) Ask The Loney, and Escape. Also their new drummer Deen Castronovo who played with Journey members before in the bands Hardline and Bad English is very impressive!

I wish that there was more songs from Arrival though, they only play Higher Place and All The Way. Higher Place sounds really great, I love that song, I can't believe how incredible that song sounds live!!!

They also do some great instumentals on this DVD, Neal Schon should join the G3 Tour.

A am a bigger Journey fan after seeing this DVD, I highly recommend it!

Fake Journey sucks. Schon needs to do another HSAS album. Maybe it will do he and Sammy both some good.

Sorry YR, but i just can't find the gut to give it a chance. Maybe if they didn't try to sound like Perry all the time. I mean, you even said that they only do two of their "own" in concert. Schon and the rest of the band can cut Perry down all they want, but they sure did try and get as close to a clone as possible.

This may make me sound like a hypocrite, in that i gave the Hagar era a chance and eventually ended up loving it. But VH moved in a different direction, and you didn't see Sammy trying to sound like Dave and play 95% old material at their concerts.

But what the hell do i know, this is just one mans opinion. Glad you like the new CD/DVD though.
