    From MTV.com:

After the second no-show in one month for the revamped Guns N' Roses, the band has pulled the plug on its first tour in almost a decade.

Interscope Records tells MTV News that the trek, which was scheduled to run through the end of the year, has been shelved. The move comes after the band canceled its scheduled stop at Philadelphia's First Union Center on Friday night. That decision sparked a minor melee, according to the Associated Press.

Interscope did not immediately offer a reason for the cancellation. A spokesperson for the First Union Center told the Associated Press that the date there was canceled after a bandmember fell ill.

The band also pulled the plug on its scheduled November 7 tour opener in Vancouver, sparking similar unrest (see "Fans Riot After Guns N' Roses Tour Kickoff Canceled: Kurt Loder Reports"). The group then kicked off its tour the following night in Tacoma, Washington (see "Axl Blows Out Throat, Dons Chicken Bucket For Glitchy Guns Tour Launch").

After the fact, Rose told a Seattle radio station that the show could have gone on, and that the venue scrapped the show without consulting the band (see "Axl Rose Claims Canceled GN'R Show Could Have Gone On").

MTV News will have more on this story as it develops

    Update article from MTV.com:

After their second no-show in one month, the revamped Guns N' Roses have had the plug pulled on their first tour in almost a decade.

A source close to the band told MTV News that the concert promoter, Clear Channel Entertainment, canceled the trek, which was scheduled to run through the end of the year. The source gave no reason for the cancellations, and Clear Channel had no comment at press time. Ticket refunds are available starting Monday (December 9) at original points of purchase.

The decision to halt the tour came after the band canceled its scheduled stop at Philadelphia's First Union Center on Friday night because Axl Rose failed to appear at the venue. An announcement over the PA at the venue said that the show was canceled due to "health issues" and a spokesperson for the First Union Center told the Associated Press that a bandmember fell ill.

The night of the show, opening band CKY performed a complete 40-minute set, then DJ Mix Master Mike spun for a full hour, considerably longer than he DJ'd on other dates of the tour (see "Mix Master Mike Taking Rock Fans To School On GN'R Tour"). After he left the stage at 9:40, almost 90 minutes elapsed before the announcement came that the show was canceled, a person on the scene said.

Chants of "Axl sucks, Axl sucks" and less polite sentiments followed, and then the crowd became unruly. For around 10 minutes, cups of beer, bottles, ceiling tiles and other debris rained down from the upper tier, and audience members on the floor started flinging seats at the stage, mixing-board and random people in the crowd. Several fights were reported, and there were 15 complaints of injury, police said. Of those, five people were sent to Methodist Hospital for evaluation. There were no major injuries reported and no arrests were made.

The Guns tour had been garnering strong reviews, though ticket sales were soft in some markets and the tour did get off on the wrong foot. The band's scheduled tour opener in Vancouver had its plug pulled by the venue, sparking similar unrest (see "Fans Riot After Guns N' Roses Tour Kickoff Canceled: Kurt Loder Reports"). The group then kicked off its tour the following night in Tacoma, Washington (see "Axl Blows Out Throat, Dons Chicken Bucket For Glitchy Guns Tour Launch").

After the fact, Rose told a Seattle radio station that the show in Vancouver could have gone on, and that the venue scrapped the show without consulting the band (see "Axl Rose Claims Canceled GN'R Show Could Have Gone On").

I would imagine Clear Channel got tired of paying the insurance premiums to cover the damages from Axl's no-shows.

Mr. Oral Sex is the poster child for white trash. Shouldn't he have died cos of a dirty needle by now?

Sounds to me like ol' Bill Bailey is getting some bad feelings that the bridge back to greatness may be burning down as he takes his "GnR" joke off the road, and is probably trying to figure out how he can get Slash and the boys to send Travis Meeks home. If Axl's voice is even half as shot as has been said, he is through, and I hate to see that happen to a guy who was partly responsible for "Appetite for Destruction", one of the most solid albums ever front to back.

Nothing new to us here, except that Dave and Sammy both had their shit together enough to put together new bands, put out albums, and tour to support them. And on the power of their own names, not as VH. Who knows what's going on in Axl's fucking head? Slash is the nicest fucking guy in all of rock and roll, and if someone can't get along with him, well, you're fucked up. I think Axl needs to lock himself in a room with a killer stereo, and jam out to Appetite for a week or so, and get his fucking attitude and sack back. What a fucking waste!

Not so fast. The show is supposedly still on for tomorrow night in SC and the FL and west coast dates outside of the 5 that were cancelled. Buckethead and Robin Fink hate each other and rumor has it one of them will not be joining the lineup. If Buckethead goes then so does Brain on drums so I'm assuming its Fink. Here's hoping its Bucket, I need to see him on a solo tour. Fink is expendable though. Again just rumors, but tomorrows show is still on. This has everyone talking about GnR again, if nothing else.
