I was into this band Queen BIG TIME . I went through a period where VH was between albums , Live RHRN and Balance . Listened to Queen so much got burned out .

Songs like I Want To Break Free was awesome , especially off the live at Wembley album . Brian May is a very talented musician and Freedie Mercury was a awesome showman and singer .

It's no secret that Gary Cherone is a Queen fan and you can tell he is influenced by Mercury and Queen . There is only one Freddie Mercury and when I saw Van Halen with Gary I thought he acted to much like Freddie . Great Band , one of musics greatest tragedies was what happened to Mr.Mercury .

Queen was a great band. I've never really listened to them much further than singles and live stuff, but they were a group of four very gifted and skilled musicians. Freddie was certainly in a league of his own when it came to showmanship (well, there's one other guy in that league). I would have loved to have seen Queen live, because I've heard that Freddie could hold an audience like few others could.

im a HUGE QUEEN fan myself! QUEEN has inspired me to create great music without any boundaries. i love the fact that they were not scared to do whatever the hell they wanted. they created some great music in their career. one of the best bands period! freddie was the best frontman after jagger, he could really work a crowd. he also had an great voice to match his witty and flamboyant personality. QUEEN as an band wrote some of the most memorable songs in rock and roll history. long live the QUEEN!

I am a Queen fan too but I enjoy the lesser heard songs. I have a HUGE cd collection, which comprises mostly entire catalogs of bands with a large discography. The next group I am working on getting all their stuff on cd is Queen. I just got News of the World and I love the tune - Fight from the Inside. Sounds very Halenesque..maybe they should cover it.

I always thought Fight from the Inside sounded like Zeppelin actually.

Few bands could touch Queen in the 70's. I kinda abandoned them in the 80's but I'm trying to rediscover that era recently.

I honestly hope that Queen DOESN'T try to live off their legacy with any other singer. Especially not some lightweight wuss like George Michael. That would be like saying "Fuck You" right to Freddie's face.

Queen is cool. I like them.

My favorite songs from them would have to be: Dragon Attack, Fat Bottom Girls (a funny one) Hammer To Fall (My all time Favorite), I'm In Love With My Car, and Drowse...That's such a good mellow tune.

I just listened to Innuendo again, after seeing VH1 legends. The Hitman kicks ass and would love to hear VH cover that one.

I much prefer the earlier Queen albums. They didn't get worse just more 'pop' as time went on I would say. There's something good on every album except the weird one they put out after FM died. As a live band they never stopped rocking hard - they were awesome in 84 and 86. The stole the day at Live Aid too in my opinion.

I was at the Wembley show '86 where they recorded that live album

"News of the World" stays in heavy rotation in my car. I especially like "Spread Your Wings" and "It's Late". What a great CD - and what a great band!

    As usual, well said, F.O.R.D.
Queen I, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack sounds a LOT like Led Zeppelin, to the point they were addicted as Zeppelin clones. They soon worked out their own style, but their best was since 1975 - 1983. Starting with A Kind of Magic (great record), they got more commercial, but they continued to make great music...
Innuendo is one of the songs that sounds a lot like Zeppelin's Kashmir, it has the same atmosphere, and that middle acoustic done by Yes guitarist Steve Howe is awesome. Great band, Freddie and Brian are really great!

You can DEFINETLY add my name to the list of bigtime Queen fans. I put them in a category all by themselves in which no other band sounds like them. They are so unique. What greatness...

Apparently Queen are doing a reunion gig in Rio next year... and who is the singer gonna be?

I was expecting Gary Cherone, after seeing his performance at the Freddie Mercury Tribute he surely musta been the favourite. But no...

...apparently it's gonna be Robbie Williams (who is famous over here in Britain, but as for the rest of the world... you may know him as 'The Millenium Guy' from what I've heard)

    Whaddaya think?
