Dave Wyndorf that is, not Lee Roth!
Have you guys heard how close the vocal peformance on "God Says No" by Monster Magnet is to classic VH? Just Listen to "Doomsday", "All Shook Out", "Gravity Well", "My Little Friend"(I could SWEAR DLR is singing on that song!), "Queen Of You", "Down In The Jungle", "Cry". Granted the music is quite different from The Mighty. The lyrics are as good as classic VH too. Actually, if VH comes up with lyrics as good as this, I'll be impressed!
Has anyone on the links noticed the similarities?

Your ass deserves to get flamed for that topic subject.

Not familiar with Monster Magnet, but I'll check em out on Napster to see how close they are.

Apologizing for the title of my thread, but the wait is driving me a bit loony!
I've heard previous MM efforts and seen them live, and wasn't a huge fan before.
What I'm saying is that's it's interesting that on their latest album, "God Says No" (I'm not talking about their older stuff), the vocal performance of Dave Wyndorf (not the music, only the vocals) is amazingly close to DLR's classic VH style on half of the songs.
The lyrics are also extremely clever, which is rare. Usually guys imitating Dave try to cope his voice, but sing idiotic, dumb-ass style lyrics. It's the first time I hear that with a contemporary band, I thought it was worth noting.

Monster Magnet's cool, Powertrip's a good album, and they're a good hard rock band. So there!

    What's the new album called?

Finally, I just said, 'Fuck it!' and let her out of my room!" - David Lee Roth

I just downloaded "my little friend" and I reckon its pretty good. Better than most stuff on the radio at the moment (in Australia anyway). I don't know about the being hard rock though - they are more heavy metal. Still rock ok though. I don't know what they sound like live but they are ok on record.

This has nothing to do with VH. I'm moving this topic to Fans Meeting Place Music Only.

Haven't heard it yet, but I'd have to say I'm finding it hard to believe that these third rate White Zombie wannabes are going to suddenly sound like David Lee Roth.
