I read that Cream was one of Edward's main musical inspirations, so I checked out some of their songs.

The most famous ones like Sunshine Of Your Love, White Room, I Feel Free, and Crossroads are great but I also like Spoonful, Strange Brew, and Swlabr (not a typo).

"Strange Brew" is straight-pimpin' like there's no tomorrow.

I don't think Clapton's really done anything since Cream, in terms of guitar.

    That was his peak, IMO.

Yeah that is a good point. But without going into many other songs by Clapton, his unplugged set is kinda cool and shit. He IS smooth though. No doubt. Out.

    Never heard of it.

Just a side note, I thought you'd all like to hear...

"DOA" is to VH what "Crossroads" is to Cream. (IMO! )

Only difference being that DOA is original.

Eddie once called VH "a junior Cream" and when I heard DOA I knew what he meant - All three instruments doing their own thing but coming together in their own way.

I thought it was kind of weird when I heard that Cream had songs called "Dance The Night Away" and "Sittin' On Top Of The World", but the Van Halen versions of each song don't sound the same.

Cream--Led Zeppelin's pappy! I dig the commerical that uses I Feel Free! How about Outside Woman blues,Rollin' and Tumblin',Toad,or Steppin' Out?

Cream's remasters are just like Van Halen's--no bonus trax. But at least Cream fans have a mighty box set.

I first got hooked on Cream about 15 years ago, because I used to read how Ed and Al were heavily influenced by them. They weren't around for very long but the influence is definately far reachin.
