What are your top 2 favorite bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's? Also, for your third choice, a "guilty-pleasure" band from the same decade.
    Here's mine:

    60's
    The Beatles
    RollingStones
    Guilty pleasure: The Monkees

    70's
    VanHalen
    AC/DC
    Guilty pleasure: Fleetwood Mac

    80's
    Def Leppard
    Queensryche
    Guilty pleasure: DuranDuran

    90's
    Alice in Chains
    TOOL
    Guilty pleasure: KoRn/White Zombie (Tie)

00's is a tough one for me since it's still too early and there really hasn't been anybody worth listing yet.

    That's really a tough question...

    '50s - ELVIS
    '60s - Beatles, Rolling Stones
'70s - KISS, Aerosmith, though they could be surpassed by ZZ Top and the Eagles, but I didn't become fans of those bands until after the '70s had long been over!
    '80s - U2, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
    '90s - U2, Trisha Yearwood
    '00s - U2

It was hard for some bands, for instance Van Halen - I didn't discover them until 1979 - so hard to call them band of the '70s, but they were gone by 1985, so hard to call them band of the '80s, either.

I used to be a huge U2 fan in the 80's and thought about putting them there, but I really started to dislike them with anything they put out after they did "The Joshua Tree". I think I liked them better when they were more "alternative" than popular and Bono's ego got a little too big for my tastes. (I consider them my own guilty-pleasure now since I still buy there records to try to rekindle some kind of interest in them.)

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."
