KISS have had many memorable costumes over the years, so what was your fave?

I know most think they were way over the top and too Vegasy, but I loved the 1979-1980, Dynasty-Unmasked costumes.

They really looked like superheroes in those ones. Capes, etc.

But if I were to go for a more 'darker' feel, I'd have to say the 1975 Alive costumes or the 1976 Destroyer ones.

    They were cool.

Especially the famous Gene dragon boots.

In my mind, Gene and Ace had the most stand-out outfits.

To me, the real KISS will always be the KISS of the "Alive" tour circa '75-'76. That is when I first started to really get into the whole KISS persona. It was also the my freshman year in high school, the year I went to my first concert (KISS in Mobile, Al.), and so on. This was the year when "Alive" came out and the masses took notice of the band. I have been a fan ever since and the "Love Gun / Farewell Tours" costumes, which highlighted the band at their peak, are a close second.

Definitely the Alive tour, although the ones from Hotter Than Hell and before are fun for nostalgic reasons.

Definitely Gene and Ace were always the coolest. I'd have to go with the 1977-78 gear:

The 1976 gear was cool, too - Gene with those "Psycho-linebacker" shoulder pads!:

I liked the 1979 stuff, too, except that Gene's outfit looked like he was wearing crumpled tinfoil:

(but I think that's also when he started using the "Axe" bass - which in itself is cool)

Oh, and I meant to add that Paul never looked so gay as he did when he started wearing that headband in 1981:

The DESTROYER outfits have always beem my fave.

The DYNASTY ones made them look like they were going on tour with DISNEY ON ICE.

I can see why people would be partial to the Alive or Destroyer era suites, but I always thought the Love Gun era costumes looked pretty classy myself, plus the album cover looked cool as hell back in the day!

The "Love Gun" costumes. Zero homo factor.
