Man, I can't help myself. Maybe it's just what a huge influence eMpTV had early on when they played videos - but I STILL love stuff like Men At Work, Tommy Tutone (867-5309),etc. I've burned two full CD's on our CD recorder, and I'm still not done yet. Anybody else still like all that schlock?

How can any rock fan not love the eighties. That was a time when bands with talent actually got their videos played! I like Men At Work too Wolfman.

I was born in '68. I was growin' pubes and being introduced to the world of erectile physics around the time eMpTV came out - so, that was my growing up time. I guess it makes sense that the 80's left such an impression on me.

You're kidding, right? That was an actual double bill? LMAO.

I'll tell you what, Glenn - two weeks before Stevie died, he played Louisville w/ Jeff Beck. Two of my favorite players of all time. Period. I can't remember what my excuse was - work, no money, what-fucking-ever; anyway, I missed the show. I have kicked my own ass flatter than a pancake for the last decade over that.

I had the priviledge of seeing Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble open for Huey Lewis and the News back around 1985-86. Stevie put on a great show, and at the end of the night, he joined Huey and the News on stage for a lengthy jam. Huey was on harmonica, and man, they really smoked. What a great show that was...

I liked the rock of the 80's. (most of my current guitar hero's are from the 80's). I did not like the pop from the 80's. Then again...I don't like the pop from the 90's either. In fact...I'll go as far to say that I wont like the pop from the 2000's either.

Dude, I wish you could see my Napster list. Tons of 80's New Wave stuff. I was born in '66 and was also coming of age during those times. Great memories. Mtv was something I enjoyed very much in those days. Now, I don't know.

Wolfman, we're a year a part, so I can totally relate!

The bands of the 80's I couldn't get enough of were (and still love to hear) Missing Persons, Berlin, Madonna (can you tell I'm a girl ).... there was even this one hit wonder who I loved...let's see, his name was Gary Myrick....the song was "Guitar, Talk, Love & Drums"...I had the hardest time finding that cassette. But to this day, I love listening to it (no one knows who is)

The 80's were a short-lived great decade of music. I remember the day MTV debuted...I have to agree, I was too an MTV junkie.

    .....ahhhh, the good old days.

LMAO, Dreamer! I JUST burned a CD for my wife a couple of weeks ago by......are you ready for this......GARY MYRICK! She has two of his albums and loves the song "She Talks In Stereo". I don't remember him from MTV, but the name was soooo familiar when she asked me to record his stuff onto CD. She said the same thing as you - nobody has ever heard of him when she mentions his name.

God, I am so glad I started this thread!
