Anybody get any of the Sony AC/DC remasters that came out today? How do they compare to the originals? Mess 'em up or do 'em right?

I'd buy Back in Black and Highway to Hell if Sony would do them in DD 5.1, that'd be sweet. Van Halen one would be the ultimate DD experience. Mixing each bandmember to a speaker... I'd probably set it up for Alex on the 2 rear speakers, Ed and Mike on the front left and right respectively, and Dave on the front center. Those are the kinda remasters we need in this day and age.
Right Now...My gf is probably reading my posts.

Anybody???

I'm thinking about buying a couple of them. I'll have nothing to compare them to though, since I've never owned any of their studio stuff.

First one I'm gonna grab is High Voltage. I haven't heard it in probably 15 years.

I was at a shop today and they had (I think it was) Dirty Deeds and it was going for 11 bucks. Which is nice. The VH remasters are always a fair price, but some bands like Iron Maiden or Motley Crue, when you see their remasters in the stores they're upwards of 24 bucks each! It never ceases to amaze me when you see bands that don't sell hardly any records anymore and their cd's are so much more expensive than the average cd.

Picked up the Highway to Hell remaster today. Damn, great sound to it, a big improvement over the old one IMO. I'd highly recommend it. No new tracks but a pretty neat insert/booklet. The old one/original had good enough sound to it but some songs like Walk All Over You were a bit underproduced especially volume wise, this remaster really cranks it up. Get it. Can't speak about the other ones, Highway was the only one I bought. I know that Dirty Deeds was in bad need of remastering.

In a related note I also got the 16 song Rush remaster CD. Great sound quality to that one too. I'd recommend it also.

AC/DCs catalog was originally remastered in 1996 , are the current remasters an improvment over the previous remasters

I picked up a Back in Black remaster last year. Didn't really notice too much difference in it though. This new Highway to Hell that I got yesterday is the real deal, great improvement in the sound. So yeah, I guess these new ones are an improvement over the previous remasters.

I also just picked up the new Sony/Epic Highway to Hell remaster CD.

And it ROCKS!

A really great improvement over previous versions on CD and even the original LP (which I also have).

I also liked the packaging (something AC/DC has always lacked in their releases in past years). Great gate fold to the CD cover and notes on each song. Great classic pics of the band, live and promo shots.
