I just picked up a copy of The Vines' album Highly Evolved . I think it's pretty good... Anyone else heard this?
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

I've heard that Vines song "Get Free" and I think it's terrible. The singer sucks. Just my opinion though.

Ugh......sorry, I like to say I am open to anything. But when is this trend gonna end? I can't stand the Vines, the White Stripes, or the Strokes. At least the Hives are a bit tongue-in-cheek. At a concert of theirs my friend was at, the crowd was booing them, someone yelled 'Fuck You!' In his accent, the singer said, 'Fuck us? Fuck us? You should be thanking us for bringing you the best musc you've ever heard.

Now that is funny. Like Oasis, tongue-in-cheek. Otherwise, the garage movement blows.

If U be diggin' what the 'garage rockas' are puddin' down, then be sho' an' check out The Hives an' Black Rebel Motorcycle Club YEZ YEZ YEZ!!!!!! I saw The mighty White Stripes a few moons ago an' they were a LIVE MONSTER--heart-stoppin', foot-stompin' versions of tunes by Gene Vincent, Son House, Loretta Lynn, & Charley Patton...an' some blistering, bodacious tenacious originals...closed the gig wit Boll Weavil Blues...juss a lookin' for a home... I dig the Vines CD, I think Get Free is just a small taste of the disc, there afe some different styles on there...its not like the Strokes where every song sounds the same IMO, but they do have some skillz.

I recommend the Doved latest CD, the last broadcast, or Silverchair's latest CD...both really good

Of all these "Garage Bands" out right now,i'll take the White Stripes.Because 1)The singer has a nice Voice and nice Guitar playing(picture Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in one body),and the way they fuse Blues, garage punk, and not so bad pop.
The question is not, "Does love exist?"
But when she leaves, where she goes?
I got the feelin' she don't know either
Wait like the wind, watch where she blows

God, when are we going to get rid of these bands? The Strokes, the Vines, the White Stripes, the Hives, etc. Give me a fucking break.
