Hotel California (Eagles)

or

Comfortably (sp?) Numb (Pink Floyd)

Just wondering about the solos, not necessarily the song itself.

Comfortably Numb. I heard Time by Floyd on the radio the other day and thought it had a great solo also.

Comfortably Numb defintely, though Hotel Cali is great too CN is arguably Floyd's greatest tune, and has a great, great solo by Gilmour. Personally I prefer the solo on 'Time'. I love all of Gilmour stuff with Floyd. Very underrated IMO.

Hotel California

Gilmour had much better solos on his 1978 solo disc and on the Animals album.
"There's a Japanese term called wabi-sabi, not wasabi, but wabi-sabi. It means an appreciation for the imperfect, the less than precision. The cowboy boots that you never polish because it's bad luck. That is completely wabi-sabi. Van Halen is that." - DLR 2002<br /><br />"Look! I can see their parachutes! I really like all 3 guitarists, but Gilmour takes the cake in most cases for me, as he does here. It's not flash or technical playing, but he has incredible feel and style. He is one of my top 3 favorite guitarists.

Walsh plays like he talks; a little hard to understand, a little sloppy, and very interesting. I like his style a lot. I still regularly listen to his James Gang stuff.

Felder is one of those "musician’s musician." He's a very talented, educated, and versatile musician (plays a variety of instruments very well). I am curious as to why he was recently kicked out of the Eagles, but I am sure that it was not for his skills.

Yikes!! I can't even decide betwen those two. They have both been on my "top ten" list for years. I guess it all depends on the mood I'm in at any given time. Right now at this moment, I suppose I would rather hear CN if I were able to listen to either one.

CN without a doubt. Gilmour's tone is incredible. He supposedly uses stock equipment......

Gotta go with Floyd! It has more feel to it. HC has a good solo but CN gets my vote.

That is the best solo ever.
