Just thought I'd start a thread 'bout Elvis, in the week of the 25th anniversary of his death. Let's face it, where would rock 'n roll be without him? Whether you're an avid fan or not, his music really was a major part of the soundtrack of the 20th century, and there'd probably not be any Beatles, Stones, you name it, without him.
So I say, "Hats off to The King".
He was one cool b*****d.

I watched a documentary about Elvis last night and it showed clips from the NBC '68 Comeback Special. I've never seen all of this but it looked like a helluva show. I wonder if it's available on VHS or DVD?

That IS a Helluva show Legoman. It truly was a comeback for Elvis. Previous to that concert he had sorta gone out of favor with the general public..Bands like The Beatles and The Who and The Stones among many others, had taken over the spotlight.

But the '68 Comeback was truly a great show and gave the King a huge surge in popularity again.

Love live THE KING!!!
