Ratt and Twisted Sister, 1984 in Houston, TX. Don't remember who was the headliner, but I'm thinking it was Ratt. Good show for a virgin

    Time to come clean:

1982 - 13th birthday - first concert was the silver fox, Kenny Rogers (better known as the king of roasted chicken). To make matters worse, Gallagher (he of watermelon smashing fame) opened for him. I sat in the VERY LAST ROW of reunion arena with my parents praying for a quick death.

Billy Joel in Milwaukee in 1994.

Great show, the dude, was awesome...played great and told some funny stories between songs. Still one of the best shows I have ever been to.
Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

KISS - 1975 "The Alive Tour", Mobile Expo Hall in Mobile, Alabama. I was 15 years old.
KISS had just released "Alive". The Mobile Expo Hall was nothing more than a basketball gymnasium, complete with retractable bleachers. The Hall is right next to the Mobile Municipal Auditorium which holds about 12,000 people. They weren't yet the Rock and Roll superstars they were soon to be. And they had plenty to prove. The opening act (Dr. Feelgood) cancelled at the last minute so the replacement band was (I swear to God) an acoustic folk quartet. Two girls and two guys playing acoustic guitars and singing folk songs. They were loudly booed off the stage after about two songs. Everyone thought it was a joke. It surprisingly wasn't. KISS came out afterward and blew the roof off the place. My first concert and the best KISS concert I've ever seen.

Kiss Love Gun Tour - 1977 Northland Coliseum
    Cheap Trick opened

Full on sweat, makeup, leather, pyro, blood-spitting, fire-breathing, gibson humbuckers through screaming Marshalls, rock and roll show. Set the stage for many to come.

    Great VH memory.

I believe it was 81, if I'm not mistaken. WACF - Invasion Tour. In the middle of 'Take Your Whiskey Home,' Roth stopped in the middle of the song, to the shock of the rest of the band who looked definitely surprised (or they're damn good actors).

He walked to the front of the stage, and knelt down in front of a chick holding up a blimpie that was clearly visible from the cheap seats (we're talking Cheech n Chong proportions here). He said "Take a look at this, now THAT is a joint" or something to that effect. He bogarted it big time, handed it back, then did a perfect spin kick as the band kicked back into full gear. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand after that.

Funny, since a lot of the acts stopped festival seating on the floor, concerts haven't been the same since. Watched a ton of shows from the first couple rows, sandwiched against those spandex clad girls of the time (remember those black stretchy pants?) and enjoyed the melodious sounds of VH, Scorps, Priest, Triumph, Def Lep, Crue, etc. Those were the days. Other than a few notables (Metallica, Offspring spring to mind), not many bands delivering the goods live anymore.
