Why not? Did he play all of the instruments?

I'll bet that at any given time during Ozzy's brilliant career, the musicians he has had playing in his "band" have considered themselves "band members"...

In case you were wondering, I am a huge Ozzy fan! Ozzy/Sabbath are neck in neck with Van Halen as far as I am concerned...

hey i like OZZY as much as the next guy. SABBATH doesn't do much for me.

didn't a couple of guys just sue the OZZMAN cause they weren't given credit for their work on one of his albums.

imo a band is the same people on every album and every tour.

Never cared much for Black Sabbath.

I like some Ozzy tunes, you know the hits, Crazy Train, No More Tears, Perry Mason, Mama, I'm coming home. Other than those couple tunes, Ozzy a little too "metal" for me.

    My favorite bands:

The Refreshments - If you don't own this bands 2 major label releases, please do. Fun is back in rock and roll. Plus some tasty guitar licks with western style and bluesy tone.

Tom Petty- Not a better songwriter on the earth. Can't sing a lick, but the man knows how to write simple lyrics without being trite.

REM - Haven't heard a lot of the new stuff. But I do have an attraction to guys that have weird voices and Micahael Stipe defenitely qualifies.

Living Colur - Only have the first two, but I like what I hear.

Billy Joel - I only have his greatest hits, but the whole damn thing is good. Both discs.

Semisonic - Great band. Incredbile production on the latest effort. Once again, a weird vocal style. Guitars aren't overly complex, yet fill the void well.

    AC/DC- self-explanatory

John Mellencamp - Great tunes. No bullshit.

Collective Soul - Great hooks. Great riffs. Great lyrics. Big guitars!!!!!!

I am not much into classic rock or metal at all. I like bands that carve out their own little niche in the music world. Kinda like Van Halen. When you hear VH you know it's VH, no one else. I think the same is true for most of the bands on my list.

Got to agree with the Collective Soul statement

I'd also like to add Live to that list. Not my favorite, but they definitely don't suck.

you don't think that Black Sabbath has carved a niche in Rock n' Roll. Hell, Black Sabbath has blasted a hole in the mutha.
    Do me a favor:
Go out and buy a nickel bag and Master of Reality, and tell me you don't feel like a wiser man the next day.

Who could not like Black Sabbath with Ozzy? There's so many awesome songs. Master Of Reality, Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Paranoid are classic albums.

Hey guysan Halen asked for bands that don't suck...I take it he means in our own opinion! Let's not "rip" on someones personal opinion! My favorite bands:
    Van Halen (Of fuckin course!)
Steve Vai (Ultra Zone Tour Band)
Extreme (Three Sides Tour) Including the Lil Jack Horn Section
T-Ride...ever hear of this band?...(one of the best unknown guitarists around)
Ozzy with Randy and with Zakk
Damn Yankees, Great White: just listen to the groove!!!!!!

You are right. Nobody else on this earth sounds like Sabbath, they did carve out their own little niche in the music world, it's just not my cup of tea. As you can tell by my other top bands, I am not a black t-shirt, beer drinking, metal fan. I don't consider the guy from White Lion to be the most underrated player in the world. Motley Crue makes me laugh. And Kiss is just pathetic.

There's nothing wrong with digging music like Sabbath, but it just doesn't do it for me. That's the great thing about Van Halen. There's just something there. I don't know what it is. It just draws me in. I'm sure each one of us loves VH for different reasons, but I bet there are a lot of people who would say they like VH becuase,.........well becuase it's just VH!!!!! It's almost like the words "Van Halen" could be used as an adjective!!!!

What is understood need not be discussed!!!
