Okay, I did this and VanHalenLive and got some good responses. Lets see if anyone can turn me onto any good guitarists over here.
List your top 5 guitarists that either arent considered a guitar god, or havent got the attention that other like, EVH, SRV, Jimi, Page, Clapton, Satriani, Vai, have. Here are a couple from me.
    Gary Hoey
    Marty Friedman
Brian Setzer (I know you know him, just had to put him down anyway)

    Here's a couple:

Warren Haynes - Gov't Mule, Allman Brothers.

Warren joined The Allman Brothers Band back in ’89. Warren is an excellent slide player but he can also bring down the house with is awesome blazing solos. He left the Allmans in ’96 to concentrate on the Mule full-time. http://mule.net/

Derek Trucks - Derek Trucks Band, Allman Brothers.

Derek is the nephew of Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks. Derek has his own band full time & plays with the Allmans during the summer. This kid is incredible, awesome slide guitarist that definitely has his own sound & he’s only 21 yrs. old. His band plays a good mix of blues & jazz. Imagine John Coltrane or Miles Davis on guitar & that’s Derek Trucks………Kenny Wayne Who?????? http://www.derektrucks.com/

    Scott Henderson - Tribal Tech.

Scott is a jazz fusion player who is pretty incredible. He released a couple of solo blues c.d.’s that are great, he’s someone I like to listen to a lot.

Jimmy Herring – Jazz Is Dead, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Allman Brothers & Phil Lesh & Friends.

This cat can wail, I think everybody would dig this guy’s playing. Jimmy is a very underrated guitar player. All you can say about Jimmy is………Outstanding. http://www.philzone.com/

Marc Ford – Black Crowes, Federale.

Marc is another outstanding guitarist. He was booted out of the Crowes in ’97 or ’98 (their buzz) & they’ve been shit ever since. Rich (Dick) Robinson was jealous of Marc & was the one behind the firing of him, Rich is just an ordinary rhythm guitarist who couldn’t stand to be the second guy on guitar, oh well the Crowes continue on their downslide. After their Zep cover tour, they’re touring with Oasis, what a joke. http://www.offtheporch.com/marcford/index2.html

Larry McCray – Larry McCray Band.

Larry is a local guy (for me anyway) from Saginaw Mich, which is just north of Detroit. He’s opened for Gov’t Mule, Dickey Betts Band, B.B. King, Albert King, Gary Moore & George Thorogood. If you ever get a chance to check him out, do yourself a favor & do it. http://www.larrymccray.com/

Yeah, as did Roy Buchanan. Really tragic to see guys as talented as they were go like they did.

It doesn't seem like Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi has gotten enough recognition. He came up with all those killer riffs that made Sabbath so great. Not to mention he's got some great solos.

I agree with Van Heine on Gary Hoey-- very versatile player. Endless Summer II is one of my top 5 favorite albums, period.

Another is Vivian Campbell--too bad for his sake he had to play with egomaniacs like Dio & Coverdale for awhile. I'm sure this album's out of print, but check out his playing on Riverdogs--I'd say his best since Holy Diver! He was supposed to be the producer, but I guess he was asked to join the band as well. Shadow King is the one he did with Lou Gramm (Foreigner)--that one kinda reminds me of III, where something just didn't sound right/something was missing, etc.

Wow guys, great stuff! I guess that I will have to check out this Scott Henderson from Tribal Tech. Each time I ask this question I get the same response. And Gary Moore and Buddy Guy are mind blowing. At least in my opinion. As well as the up and coming Derek Trucks.

Roktar I agree with you about John Sykes!

He is a great guitarist! I really love Whitesnake (1987) it's too bad him and Coverdale couldn't get along well.

Man, how did I forget Buddy Guy? He singlehandedly revived my interest in Blues after I saw him live last year. He was absolutely smokin', not to mention the fact that he's like what, 64? Great player and showman as well.
